About Polk Partners What: A partnership of major institutions in Polk County, Florida, formed to provide information about Polk County on the World Wide Web. Each organization that participates must have a substantial Web site and must agree to link from their home page or one page off their home page to the PolkPartners.com Web site. The site: PolkPartners.com Each partnering organization is represented by a logo, link and a one-sentence description. Listings are divided into categories such as: City, Government, Chamber, Economic Development, Education, etc. Partners: Initial invitations were sent in the summer of 2001. New requests to affiliate will be considered by a steering committee consisting of one representative from each of the founding organizations. Cost: There is no cost to affiliate with PolkPartners.com. Hosting is being provided by The Ledger and design is being provided by CDN Partners, Inc. All organizations are asked to provide appropriate artwork. Management of the site will be provided by the founding organizations. Revenue: PolkPartners.com is not a revenue-generating site, and advertising/sponsorships will not be sold on the site.
