FOCUS
ON LEADERSHIP - WINTER HAVEN
Selection
Criteria
The
Selection Committee seeks to identify those individuals most likely
to use their leadership abilities for the long-term benefit of the
community. Basic selection criteria, in addition to Chamber membership,
are:
- To
select those individuals with a commitment, motivation and interest
to serve and create a better Winter Haven.
- To
select those who have demonstrated concern by past community involvement.
- To
select those intending to seek key volunteer and/or appointed
leadership roles.
- To
select those with an occupational commitment to remain in the
area.
- To
select those who are, or who one day will be, at the top level
of your organization.
- To
identify minority owned businesses and leaders to participate
in this leadership program.
- Selection
Committee will review all applications based on the above criteria.
- Selection
Committee will then review all selections and non-selections with
the Advisory Board.
- Selection
Committee will retain all nominations for future leadership classes
and consideration.
Attendance
To
be eligible for graduation from the Leadership program, participants
may not miss more than two sessions. An option to make up the required
day is available during the following year.
Tuition
The
cost of the program is $ 50.00 per participant, payable upon acceptance
to the program.
Time
Commitment
This
program does require a time commitment by the participants, subject
facilitators and program coordinators. As a result, we need for
everyone to be cognizant of start times and leave potential disruptions
such as pagers and cells out of meetings. Your program coordinator
will provide an emergency phone for incoming and outgoing calls
should the need arise. The cell number will be provided during the
first meeting.
Dress
In
this program, you will have the opportunity to interact with several
community and government leaders; as a result proper dress for all
meetings is business casual unless told otherwise by your program
coordinator.
